MOMS NIGHT OUT: Throwback To Y2K With The Pop 2000 Tour

Published

on

TULSA — Tulsa-area moms looking for a night of pop-fueled nostalgia won’t want to miss the Pop 2000 Tour, hitting the stage at Hard Rock Live on Thursday, May 22 at 8 p.m.

The tour brings together some of the biggest names from the early 2000s music scene, including Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, LFO, and Ryan Cabrera, promising a high-energy night packed with throwback hits and sing-along moments.

Chris Kirkpatrick, best known as a founding member of *NSYNC, helped define the boy band era with chart-toppers like “Bye Bye Bye” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” Since his *NSYNC days, he’s stayed active in entertainment, lending his voice to animated series and making appearances on reality shows.

Also on the lineup is O-Town, the group formed on the hit reality series “Making the Band” in 2000. They shot to fame with their debut single “Liquid Dreams” and continued their rise with the emotional ballad “All or Nothing,” a staple on pop radio during the era.

LFO (Lyte Funkie Ones) brings their laid-back summer energy to the show with favorites like “Summer Girls.” Though the group has faced heartbreak with the loss of two original members, surviving member Brad Fischetti continues to honor their legacy through live performances.

Rounding out the lineup is Ryan Cabrera, the acoustic-pop heartthrob known for hits like “On the Way Down” and “True.” His upbeat sound and charismatic stage presence made him a fan favorite during the TRL heyday.

Tickets are available at $24.50, $29.50, and $39.50. Guests must be 21 or older with a valid photo ID. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

For Tulsa moms looking to relive their pop music youth—or introduce their kids to the sounds that shaped the turn of the millennium—the Pop 2000 Tour offers the perfect throwback night out.

Tulsa Takes Center Stage in FX’s Upcoming Crime Drama “The Lowdown”

TULSA — The streets of Tulsa are set to shine on the small screen this fall with the premiere of The Lowdown, a new FX drama series created by Oklahoma native Sterlin Harjo and starring Academy Award-nominated actor Ethan Hawke. The eight-episode series is scheduled to debut on September 23, 2025, on FX, with streaming available the following day on Hulu.

Set and filmed entirely in Tulsa and surrounding areas, The Lowdown delves into the gritty world of citizen journalist Lee Raybon, portrayed by Hawke. Raybon, a self-proclaimed “truthstorian,” is driven by an unyielding quest to expose corruption within his community—a mission that often places him at odds with powerful adversaries and strains his personal relationships.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tim Blake Nelson, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Kyle MacLachlan, and Keith David. Filming commenced in early 2025, transforming various Tulsa locales into cinematic backdrops and providing local talent with opportunities to participate in a major television production.

The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture (Tulsa FMAC) played a pivotal role in facilitating the production. In a statement, Tulsa FMAC expressed gratitude to Harjo for choosing Tulsa as the series’ setting, noting that the project has allowed local creatives to showcase their talents on a national platform.

The Lowdown marks another significant contribution from Harjo, who previously co-created the critically acclaimed series Reservation Dogs. His commitment to authentic storytelling and highlighting Oklahoma’s rich cultural landscape continues to resonate with audiences and industry professionals alike.

As anticipation builds for the series premiere, Tulsa residents can take pride in their city’s starring role in bringing The Lowdown to life. The show not only promises compelling storytelling but also underscores Tulsa’s growing prominence as a hub for film and television production.
