Tulsa Zoo Unveils 2025 Summer Camps: A Wild Adventure for Young Explorers
TULSA — The Tulsa Zoo is offering a lineup of immersive and educational summer camps for 2025, promising hands-on fun and outdoor exploration for children from pre-K through high school. Designed to inspire curiosity and a deeper understanding of wildlife, these camps run from June through August.
Camp Highlights by Age Group
Pre-K (K4–K5):
Sensory Safari helps the youngest campers explore the world using their five senses through animal encounters and nature-based play. Sessions are available June 9–13, July 14–18, and July 28–August 1. The June 23–27 session has already sold out.
Grades 1–2:
- Dino Institute takes children on a prehistoric journey with fossil digs and dinosaur-themed discovery. One session remains: August 4–8.
- Cryptozoology lets campers investigate legends like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. Sessions are June 9–13 and July 21–25.
- Nature Detectives teaches kids to uncover the mysteries of the natural world. The July 7–11 session remains available, with others sold out.
Grades 3–5:
- Dino Institute returns for older kids with expanded activities, offered June 23–27, July 14–18, and August 4–8.
- Cryptozoology and Nature Detectives for this group are already full, showcasing high demand for these popular topics.
Grades 6–8:
- Zoo Insider offers behind-the-scenes access to animal care and zoo operations. Sessions are set for June 2–6, June 16–20, and August 4–8.
- A Zoo Designed By You invites students to learn about animal behavior and design custom zoo habitats. Sessions will be held July 7–11 and July 21–25.
Camp Details
Camp days run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Pre-K camps ending earlier at 1:00 p.m. Aftercare is available from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. for an additional fee.
Weekly pricing is $275 per camper, or $350 with aftercare. Pre-K camps are $175. Zoo members receive a 10% discount. Registration includes a T-shirt and all camp materials.

Meet Children’s Illustrator Raúl the Third
Also Friday, young readers and their parents can meet acclaimed illustrator Raúl the Third at a Books to Treasure event from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in south Tulsa. The program celebrates this year’s featured book and offers families a chance to hear about his creative process, discover new stories and participate in a book signing. The event is free and open to all ages.
Tiny Tulsa Sensory-Inclusive Play at Gathering Place
On Saturday, Gathering Place will host Tiny Tulsa, a free, sensory-inclusive play program from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ONEOK Boathouse. Designed for pre-K through fifth-grade children, including those with sensory needs, the experience features softer lighting, reduced noise and imaginative play areas modeled after real parts of Tulsa—like markets, parks and community spaces—allowing kids to explore in a calmer, supportive environment.
Sensory-Friendly Family Hours at Discovery Lab
Families looking for a quieter museum experience can visit Discovery Lab on Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. during its Sensory-Friendly Family Hours. The museum adjusts lighting and sound levels to create a more comfortable space for children on the autism spectrum and others who benefit from a low-stimulation environment, while keeping all core exhibits open for hands-on learning.

Dog Man: The Musical Hits Tulsa PAC Stage Tuesday
